Bungy jumping to feature as the best attraction ever..!

By Bushra:

ADRENALINE junkies and extreme sports enthusiasts will have an added thrill to look forward to soon, when bungy jumping makes its home here with Malaysia’s first permanent bungy jump attraction at Sunway Lagoon.
The attraction is a collaboration between Sunway Lagoon and world-renowned operator of gravity defying activities, the AJ Hackett International Group.
Jumpers will get to experience the thrilling free-fall from a towering 22m above the water, which is equivalent to the height of an eight- to nine-storey building.
Ready, set, go!: 8TV Quickie host Prem Shanker (centre) getting ready to leap off Sunway Lagoon’s pedestrian suspension bridge.
They will have the option of a “water touch”, whereby they can touch the surface of the man-made lake below before they are recovered via an inflatable raft.
The bungy jump platform will be set on the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge, near Sunway Lagoon’s Extreme Park.
Sunway Lagoon CEO Aaron Soo was among the first jumpers during a recent trial bungy jumping session.
He revealed that he had already psyched himself up before his jump, and had no phobia whatsoever due to his platform diving experience during his schooldays.
“There was some initial anxiety and concern, considering that this was my first time bungy jumping.
I’m flying!: 8TV Quickie host Prem Shanker diving towards the lake during his bungy jump.
“However, the AJ Hackett personnel were very professional and thorough, and with my safety assured, I felt comfortable jumping off,” Soo said, adding that he felt no jerks or pain during the jump.
While acknowledging a bungy jump accident that happened in Sunway Lagoon sometime back, Soo stressed that his biggest concern was the visitors’ safety.
“That is why we’re working with AJ Hackett International, the original bungy jumping company that has recorded over two million jumps worldwide without any major incidents,” he said.
AJ Hackett International business development manager Graham Whorskey said the purpose of his visit was to test the jump and sort out the necessary mechanics.
“We need to work out a platform to jump off from and the dinghy for the rescue (after the jump is completed.
“Jumpers will have the option of doing it the traditional way (using ankle attachment, with body harness as backup) or the alternative (with body harness strapped around the waist).”
He explained that there were different cords used in bungy jumping with different amounts of rubber.
Scary yet exciting: Star reporter Jade Chan leaping off Sunway Lagoon’s pedestrian suspension bridge!
“The cord with a stronger rubber can accommodate a heavier weight. We can build cords that can accommodate up to 200kg!” said Whorskey, who has been in the business for more than 20 years and has bungy jumped more than 3,000 times.
Also present was Bungy Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Richard Tankersley, whose company handles the Malaysian operations of the AJ Hackett International Group.
The staff of Bungy Malaysia will undergo rigorous training at AJ Hackett International’s premises in Bali on all aspects of safety and operations before running the attraction at Sunway Lagoon.
Soo said bungy jumping would be open to the public when all the necessary tests were completed and relevant permits acquired, which he estimated to be in three to six months’ time.
Though the average market price is US$100 (about RM350) for a jump about 40m high, Soo gave an assurance that a market test would be done and the attraction would be offered at a price that visitors could afford.
Although there is no minimum age, Whorskey said children under 10 years were generally not allowed to bungy jump.
“We will most likely open it to visitors aged 11 years and above. People with a heart condition, fear of heights, or are pregnant are not advised to try it,” Soo said.

Some really actions to bring it to life were recorded in this video..
If you want to break free and try something crazy.. Now you know what to do ;)

Salesgirl molested by deformed man

By : Roshan

Bandar Baru Belekong: A lame leg, a deformed left hand and a cross-eyed look. We would be forgiven for thinking, upon being told of a crime involving such a person, that he was the victim.
Not so. In this instance at least, the physically challenged man was the predator.

The man, said to be in his 40s or 50s, molested a 23-year-old salesgirl from Bandar Baru Belekong, here, on Sunday.

The woman was alone in a textile shop when the man approached her.

Producing a welfare card, he asked for a donation.
After she had given him RM5, he struck up a conversation with the woman and persuaded her to sit next to him.

He performed a coin trick before touching the victim's right thigh. He then touched her near the groin before grabbing her buttocks.

As the man got up to leave, he rubbed her abdomen, saying she would give birth to twins. That's when she realised she had been taken advantage of. She later lodged a police report.

New Era College senate head punched while giving speech

By: Roshan

KAJANG: What started out as a happy event turned chaotic at the New Era College convocation.
A man went up to the stage as college senate chairman Dr Yap Sin Tian was giving a speech and punched him in the face in front of 500 people, including students, parents and guests.

However, the attacker managed to flee the scene.
Dr Yap, who is Dong Zong (the United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia) president, was ushered to a seat with a fractured cheekbone and nose. An ambulance arrived later to send him to the Kajang Specialist Hospital.
College principal Mok Soon Choong took over the podium to continue the speech and calmed the situation.
Witnesses said the attacker wore a shirt used by members of a fund-raising event in the college. The man has been identified as a former college graduate.
Dong Jiao Zong Education Centre directors, who were seated near the stage, tried to catch him but he managed to escape.
It is unclear if the attack is linked to an ongoing squabble between Dr Yap and the college’s former principal Dr Kua Kia Soong.
Dr Yap had supported Dong Zong when it did not extend Dr Kua’s contract which expired in December.
The Dong Jiao Zong has made a police report on the attack.
College officials said they would conduct their own investigation.
In Penang, MCA vice-president Datuk Liow Tiong Lai expressed regret over the attack.
“It is sad to see such an incident happening in an educational body. Any problem should be settled without the use of violence,” he said.

Sex sold at food court

By : Roshan

FOREIGN women have been using food courts in Jalan Gelang, off Jalan Loke Yew, in Kuala Lumpur to solicit for sex.
Sin Chew Daily special investigative team discovered that the women also walk the streets to look for potential customers.
The women bring their customers to nearby flats to have sex.
Each “session” costs customers between RM100 and RM150, regardless of the woman’s age, the daily reported.
According to a resident at the flat, the women begin their “business” from noon to 6am every day.
Most of the women seen during the day were middle-aged while the young ones appeared at night.
The resident alleged that a group of men, believed to be plainclothes policemen, would raid the streets several times a month and round up the foreigners.
“But the women always return after a few days,” he said.

Enforcement officers seize 'Viagra coffee'

By: Roshan

KUALA LUMPUR: A direct-selling company marketed a coffee mixture with a secret ingredient which guaranteed to "perk up" drinkers.
The secret ingredient was sildenafil, more popularly known as Viagra.

Enforcement officers from the Health Ministry recently raided the direct-selling company in Gombak.

A medical examination is required, along with a doctor's recommendation, before men who are suffering from erectile dysfunction are allowed to purchase sildenafil or Viagra.

A ministry spokesman said: "The coffee mixture had been distributed in sachets nationwide.

"Officers found 900 boxes containing more than 9,000 sachets of the coffee mixture which retailed for more than RM80 per box."

The company used individuals to distribute the product in small quantities to evade detection by authorities, he said.

"Investigations revealed that the distributor attempted to mislead the public by claiming that the coffee mixture could provide an energy boost, besides being beneficial for men," the spokesman said.

If a coffee mixture is sold at a higher than normal price then it is almost certain to contain the sildenafil.

"A coffee mixture containing the dangerous chemical is sold for between RM5 and RM10 per sachet compared with coffee mixtures which retail for between RM1 and RM2 per sachet," the spokesman said.

Sildenafil is a controlled substance because of the dangers it poses to those suffering from heart ailments and high blood pressure.

Those who consume sildenafil without a doctor's prescription run the risk of headaches, stomach aches, hearing loss, vision impairment and muscle pain.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur at The Curve

KidZania Kuala Lumpur at The Curve in Petaling Jaya is set to open by the middle of 2011. Known as an Educational Theme Park for Kids, this 80000 square feet theme park will be the talk of town and the place to bring your kids for an adventure of a lifetime. The award winning indoor park is also very popular in cities like Tokyo and Jakarta besides its home country in Mexico where the first KidZania Theme Park was started back in 1999. Kids will actually play in a replica of a real city in here, complete with shops, streets and buildings which are made and run by children. This will be the ultimate City for Kids.

Kidzania Kuala Lumpur as it will be branded will also be located on the 6th and 7th floors of a seven-storey mall called Curve NX, located at the junction corner of the Curve, Ikea and Tesco. For the locals, it was where the former McDonald's building used to be. It will also be connected to the Curve Shopping Mall via a Sky Bridge. The massive project is also jointly developed by Khazanah and Boustead Group of Malaysia where a total of RM50 million was invested. They expect the theme park to have 500,000 visitors annually. Seems like all the other outlets around the world have an aeroplane sticking out of the building or located somewhere in the premises. For the Kuala Lumpur outlet, there is an AirAsia Airbus Plane sticking out of the building which you simply cannot miss.

Six local Malaysian companies will also be participating in the sponsorship of KidZania Kuala Lumpur. They are AirAsia, Honda Malaysia, New Straits Times Press, CIMB Group and Pos Malaysia. EWith this sponsorship, each company will be committed to funding the development and display of several lifelike and child-sized fixtures of their respective business operations at the theme park.
For parents with kids, this is going to be the ultimate play land for your children. Make sure you bring your kids here once it opens and rest assured, there will be a massive crowd there for at least a few months after opening. I can only imagine this place on the weekends. For those who have more than 2 kids, best to start saving now as this place will be addictive! Kids these days are so fortunate that there are so many kids activities to do in PJ/KL. Back in the day, we simply used to hang out at the padang (playground). This is an excellent chance to shower your kids with fun and excitement at KidZania Kuala Lumpur at the Curve.

VOte..? What Vote.?

They can keep on bashing the Malaysian Chinese of being ungrateful, pendatang, prostitutes, si-sepet and claiming that they do not need the Malaysian Chinese votes to stay in power.  The PM and also their president was very brave with his threat while giving his UMNO speech.

Now in sick bed and facing the real threat of losing the 13th GE without the Malaysian Chinese supports, the PM takes the opportunity of the 2nd World Chinese Economic Forum to beg for the Malaysian Chinese votes. He has no choice but to recognise that Malaysia will not be what it is today without the Malaysian Chinese support.

Now we want to see what Umno, Perkasa and Mahathir have to say about this speech by Najib.

“Malaysia would not be what it is today without the industry, expertise and dedication of the Malaysian Chinese community,”

This speech can prove only one thing, that Malaysian Chinese can survive without any government's handout and do not have the time to quarrel or argue about theketuanan melayu and their special rights, 54 years have shown that.As a Malaysian Chinese, I am calling all others not to be sucked in by the PM's nice speeches. He is good to you now because he wants your votes. Once he gets your votes, you will become pendatang again.
The only way to ensure that we remain recognised as a true Malaysian with equal rights and opportunities is to let Umno-BN sit as opposition for at least two terms come the 13th GE. Only then will Umno-BN learn to behave and appreciate each and every  Malaysian.

"We don't need Chinese and Indian to win the election" Johari Ghani, MD of C.I Holdings Bhd (Pemanis), UMNO Titiwangsa
Thesi mata sepet that has never gone to a mosque or surau only has one vote. The ‘si botol that only knows how to go up to Batu Caves up and down only has one vote,” said Hamim (of BTN).
Wake up 'si mata sepet' & 'si botol', voting Barisan Najis is like agreeing that you are a 'si mata sepet' or 'si botol'. Don't be stupid to vote BN...your vote is not needed. Lets use the ONE vote to kick the racists out....are you awake?

HERE IS THE UGLY THORNY SIDE -SHOWS OF THE DURIAN BUSINESS!!! MUST
WATCH OUT. DON'T GET CAUGHT BY THESE
CONMEN WHO ROBS US IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

DO NOT entertain or approach any durian seller whom you do not know at all,
especially pasar malam, an event which they move from one place to another ....

Personally, I had a similar experience at Raju's in Petaling Jaya
sometime early this year, 2010.
As we had finished our roti canai at Raju's, a "decent" looking youth
came up to me with a durian with a "window" opened to show a nice and tempting durian
fleshinside. Yummy, so I thought.
He led me to this van half-filled with durians and promptly told his
burly buddy that this boss (that's me) wanted to buy. This fellow just picked a huge durian and proceeded to open it.
Then in quick succession, he had already opened 3 fruits. I frantically stopped him and said that I actually wanted one only. The usual concluding statement from him was, "What am I going to do with these 3opened durians ?"
I asked how much?
He answered, "RM280.00"!!
I uttered, "That's robbery."
Sensing that I had just been conned and cornered, I said sternly that
I am only willing to pay
RM120.00 max for the durians.
To cut the long story short, I settled for RM200.00

SO, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCAM.  PASS THIS EMAIL AROUND AND WARN YOUR FRIENDS, ESPECIALLY DURIAN LOVERS.

How Lee Kuan Yew sees Malaysia in 20 years' time?
A hundred years later, Singapore 's foundation will remain rock solid. The tiny city-state will continue to lure new immigrants, and many new-generation Singaporeans will see their lineages traced back to those of migrants.

Lee Kuan Yew did not seem to see things that far. He only set his sight 20 years later.
He said all constituencies in Malaysia would be dominated by the Malays in 20 years' time, and the leadership in this country would value the Chinese population less and less.
The Chinese population would continue to slide, he added, not because of the pathetically low fertility rates among the Chinese in this country, but because those who could afford would have sent their children overseas, who would decide not to come back.
The ratio of Chinese population in this country has been on steady decline over the decades; so has their political status here. Very soon, they will be completely engulfed by the powerful waves of aggressive Islamisation. This is the pessimistic side of the outlook of their destiny.
But Chinese Malaysians cannot afford to go on this way, and wait helplessly for such a destiny to befall them. They have to take the initiative to accentuate their own strengths and be in firm control of their own fates before they can divert such a predestination. The next ten years will be key to the future destiny of Chinese Malaysians. If the country's policies get more and more ethnically-oriented and religiously inclined, the future of Chinese community is well within our imagination, and Chinese Malaysians will exit the country in droves.
On the other hand, if community-centric ideologies get diluted, conflicts between mainstream and minority races get thinned down, the common Malaysian identity gets consolidated, and the spirit of secularity stays very much relevant, then Chinese Malaysians will have a much more promising future here. So will Malaysia .

Whatever happens to this country or our society, the most important element for new-generation Chinese to secure a place in this land, will be their very own competitiveness. In This age of globalisation, when national boundaries are increasingly obscured, people will find a greener pasture beyond our shores if our internal conditions remain this bleak.

We cannot afford to talk about what will happen to us a hundred years from now. We need to buck up and fight for our near-term opportunities.
Meaningless and unnecessary squabbles, like the one currently taking place within MCA, will only serve to bog down the pace of the Chinese community further, blurring their vision of the clear and present danger.
What the Chinese community urgently needs right now is high-calibre and farsighted leadership, not one engrossed with endless infighting.

Tourists were Disappointed

Lankawi Cable Car station has temporary closed from last 5th February without any announcement. As a result a huge number of tourists were disappointed. Those tourists came from many different countries including USA, Europe, Australia and many other countries.

After waiting almost whole day we found one duty officer who told us the cable car station has to shut down due to some technical errors and also the renovation work is going to start very soon as well. But when we asked him, why there was no announcement regarding the closing of cable car? He answered “This is absolutely wrong, in front of the station you can see the notice board where we already announced that the cable car station is closed”.
Langkawi cable car is located on the southwest coast of Langkawi island. There are 3 stations along the cable car line, i.e. Base, Middle and Top Station. The cable car ride will bring you all the way up to about 708 meters above sea level. This journey covers a total distance of 2.2 km linking the Base Station at the foothill of Machinchang Mountain to Top Station at the mountain summit.
